Who are the final nominees for FIFA's best coach of the year award?

The body governing football in the world, FIFA has announced the final nominees for the best coach award of the year 2023.

Pep Guardiola, Simone Inzaghi and Luciano Spalletti have been revealed as the three finalists for the best FIFA Men's Coach award of the year award 2023. The three-man shortlist was released on the official website of FIFA on Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Meet your finalists

Pep Guardiola:

The Spanish international led Manchester City to winning the treble last season making him the first coach to win two trophy trebles, which include the domestic league, main domestic cup and the UEFA Champions League, a feat he achieved in 2009 with Barcelona.

He led Manchester City to beat Arsenal to win the Premier League title, won the UEFA Champions League at the expense of Inter Milan and the FA Cup by beating Manchester United.

Simeone Inzaghi:

The tactics and expertise of the Italian were key in helping Inter Milan reach the final of the Champions League for the first time in over a decade which he lost to Manchester City in June 2023. He won the 20222/23 Coppa Italia and led them to another Champions League qualification.

Luciano Spaletti:

The head coach of the Italian national team was instrumental in helping Napoli win the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years. Spalletti's achievement saw them win the Serie A coach of the year for the very first time. He also led Napoli to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

How will the winner of the Best Coach be selected?

The award will be presented to the individual with the most points. The voting procedure is supervised by independent observers, results will be published in full on FIFA's website following the awards ceremony on 15 January 2024.
