Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the appointment of Graham Potter had the manager of the Stamford Bridge Club.

The former manager of Brighton was appointed as a replacement for Thomas Tuchel who was sacked by Chelsea on Wednesday, September 7th, 2022. According to reports from Stamford Bridge, Tuchel was sacked because of the recent poor run of results by Chelsea this season across all competitions.

WHO IS GRAHAM POTTER?

Graham Potter is a 47-year-old English man who was the manager of Brighton and Hove Albion in the Premier League before he was appointed the head coach of Chelsea Football Club.

Potter has not managed any top team since he started his coaching career, the first team he managed was Swansea Football Club during the 2018/19 football season. He later became the manager of Brighton at the start of the 2019 season until he was appointed manager of the Blues.

WHAT ARE GRAHAM POTTER'S STATISTICS AS A MANAGER?

He coached in the Swedish League for eight years where he coached a fourth-division side Ostersund. By 2015, he had them promoted to the first division. He helped them win the league cup in 2017 and got knocked out of the Europa League by Arsenal.

He later moved to the Championship in 2018 to coach Swansea, which had the highest number of passes per 90 minutes in the league throughout the season. He took Swansea to the Quater Final of the FA Cup, they went up 2-0 until the 70th minute before the Cityzens scored three goals with a Sergio Aguero winner.

Potter was appointed manager of Brighton in 2019, he lead the club to a record 42 points in his first two seasons and 51 points in his third season.

Potter has managed 120 games in the Premier League, of which has won just 34 games, lost 22 and had 44 draws.

IS GRAHAM POTTER THE RIGHT MANAGER FOR CHELSEA?

This question will only be answered with time but one thing is certain, this is the first time that Potter will have an array of fantastic players to work with within his managerial career. If he knows his onions well then he would get to win more games than he did at Brighton and also win trophies for the Blues.
