There were reports initially that Jadon Sancho could be a Chelsea player from next season after his loan deal expires with the caveat that the Blues finish about 14th on the Premier League table. However, events have overtaken the recent agreement between Chelsea and Manchester United after the attacking midfielder has been in poor form for the past few months.

There have been reports from several media houses that the concerning Sancho but David Ornstein confirmed that Chelsea are considering the option of terminating the agreement they had with Manchester United.

He said,

"As has been reported elsewhere - Chelsea can decide against going through with the obligation by paying a fee. So, technically, he could return to United but that was not the aim of any party when they embarked upon this deal."

Sancho hit the ground running in his first set of games for the Blues but has seeped in form recently having scored just two goals and created six assists . The Englishman joined the Blues during 2024 summer transfer window after things broke between himself and former manager of Manchester United, Erik Ten Hag.
