Ahead of an all-important Carabao Cup fixture Chelsea vs Newcastle scheduled for today, Tuesday, December 19, 2023, players that would not be available for the games have been confirmed.
Chelsea is set to take on Newcastle for the third time in the 2023/2024 season and players available for both sides ahead of the knockout stage fixture of the Carabao Cup have been confirmed.
Chelsea confirmed that nine of their players will miss the Carabao Cup fixture today as other stars will be looking to get one over Newcastle for the first time this season. With the Blues in the bottom half of the table, the Carabao Cup alongside the FA Cup might be the only shot Chelsea had at winning its first trophy since Thomas Tuchel left the club.

For Newcastle they will be without the following players due to injury, Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, Javier Manquillo, and Joe Willock. Kieran Trippier will be out as a result of a suspension which he received on Saturday with Sandro Tonali missing out due to his suspension from football as a result of his betting scandal.
Fabian Schar, Joelinton and Alexander Isak are still doubtful ahead of the clash.
