Gavi Could Leave Barcelona as a Free Agent | See Details
Barcelona Football Club could be without the services of Gavi next season after failing to register the 18-year-old into the first team.
The decision of the court means that Gavi will return to the youth team and could leave the club as a free agent next season, according to reports from the Athletic. This also means that the Spaniard will not be able to wear jersey number 6, which means he will wear number 30.
Barcelona will not be able to register Gavi as a first-team player, there was a possibility that this would happen when he renewed his contract, because of La Liga’s salary cap. The only way the Spanish international will be registered with the first team for 2023-24, they must reduce their wage structure.
The Court confirmed that the club’s petition for a precautionary measure to be issued, forcing LaLiga to register Gavi as a first-team player was made after the deadline. However, they have 20 days to submit a second appeal.
