The Brazilian women's national team were knocked out of the ongoing FIFA Women's World Cup being hosted in Australia and New Zealand.

The Copa America champions needed maximum points in the game while Jamicia just needed to avoid defeat in the final group game to book a spot in the Round of 16.

The Jamaican team have been disbanded by FIFA twice in the last 15 years. Some of the players were part of a Gofundme campaign so that they can raise funds needed for run their expenses at the competition.

This is not the type of send-forth that the captain of the Brazilan team, Martha was looking out for, as she had earlier confirmed that she will not participate in another World Cup. She had scored in her past six world cup appearances and was looking to make it seven.

This is the first time in the history of the Brazilans that they would not get past the group stage.
