FIFA Might Sanction Premier League Clubs

Premier League clubs might get sanctions from FIFA following the refusal to release their players for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers. Chile, Mexico, and Paraguay are leading the protest to ensure the Premier League teams do not go unpunished.

The Premier League clubs unanimously agreed not to release their players for international matches taking place in the UK government's red-list countries. La Liga clubs also joined in the decision to stop their players from traveling for the matches.

According to reports from Sky Sports News, Chile, Mexico, and Paraguay are leading the quest to ensure that these Premier League clubs get sanctioned by the body governing football in the world.

According to FIFA regulations, states that clubs must release their players whenever their players need them. If the clubs cannot release them, the players may not play for their clubs during the International break plus five days unless an exemption is agreed with the relevant association.
