FIFA Confirms Chelsea Qualification for 2025 Club World Cup

Chelsea Football Club have booked its spot in the new format of the FIFA Club World Cup which takes off in 2025.

The winners of the UEFA Champions League starting from 2021 down to 2025 will secure an automatic qualification while the remaining eight teams from Europe will be selected based on their coefficient in the four years (2021-2025). This format means that Chelsea and Real Madrid have secured their spot in the competition.

FIFA confirmed that the tournament will be held every four years as against having it hosted every year. 32 clubs will participate in the competition with the continent of Europe getting 12 representatives.

Manchester City would most likely get a spot in the competition as they are ranked second in Europe behind Bayern Munich, with the other English spot going to Liverpool or Manchester United depending on their future performances in Europe.

Other teams that have secured automatic qualification include, Al Hilal, Al Ahly, Wydad Athletic Club, C.F Monterrey, Seattle Sounders, Palmerias, and Flamengo
