Ferran Torres misses Barcelona training amid PSG reports

Ferran Torres has not reported to Barcelona’s training ground today as he edges closer to a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain, with negotiations between the two clubs reportedly reaching an advanced stage.

Barcelona have given the Spanish forward permission to miss training while the transfer is being discussed. This will be a good addition to the Ligue 1 club if they can seal a deal with Barcelona.

Torres enters the situation after a memorable summer with Spain at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Barcelona forward became one of the heroes of Spain’s triumph, coming off the bench to score the winning goal in extra time as La Roja defeated Argentina 1-0 in the final. His 106th-minute strike made him only the second substitute to score a World Cup final winner, after Germany’s Mario Götze in 2014.

The World Cup-winning moment has further raised Torres’ profile, with the 26-year-old now potentially set for a new chapter in France. PSG are reportedly closing in on a deal, with the transfer understood to be worth around €55 million including bonuses.

Torres' absence from Barcelona training could therefore prove significant as negotiations continue, particularly given that he had been expected to return to the club on August 12. If the deal is completed, he could leave Catalonia just weeks after producing the decisive moment in Spain’s World Cup triumph.
