The Dutchman was speaking at a press conference ahead of the Premier League game against Leicester City on Thursday, September 1st, 2022. According to Ten Hag, no player will be joining the club when the completion of Antony's deal from Ajax is official.

There is an agreement between the clubs but the paperwork is not done, so I cannot go deep. We still need to strengthen the offensive department because we have many games to cover.

He also confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will stay at the club for the rest of the season.

It is clear. We need quality players. You need more [players] to cover all the games to keep the consistency going. Aaron [Wan-Bissaka] will stay. This squad will go from September to a minimum January.

Manchester United have gotten their season back on track following two consecutive victories against Liverpool and Southampton.
