Erik Ten Hag gives update on Maguire's injury ahead of Liverpool clash
The clash between Liverpool and Manchester United always gives football fans around the world something to talk about and the trip to Anfield this weekend will not be an exception.
Manchester United will be going into this match as the least favourite following injuries to some of its key defenders ahead of the clash. The manager of the club, Erik Ten Hag has given an update on the situation of Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford.
He said while speaking at a pre-match press conference on Friday, December 15, 2023. According to him, the team will be without Maguire but they will have Rashford available.
"Harry Maguire will not be available (against Liverpool), but we don’t think it will be a long period of unavailability."
He also confirmed that Anthony Martial is not fit to play but that both Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford have returned to training and will be available for selection on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
"Luke Shaw trained this morning, so we think he is available for Sunday. Marcus Rashford will be back, Martial not.”
Lisandro Martínez and Casemiro both remain sidelined until 2024. Martínez and Casemiro have been pictured training individually on grass in recent weeks.
