Eric Chelle reacts to Super Eagles result against Zimbabwe

The head coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Eric Chelle has reacted to the team's disappointing result against Zimbabwe.

Nigeria failed to keep their focus on the defence with less than five minutes of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match against the warriors of Zimbabwe. According to Eric Chelle, he wouldn't put the blame on any defender but he is confident that Nigeria will qualify for the competition.

What did Eric Chelle say about the game against Zimbabwe?

"We made some mistakes, we were the best team on the pitch. This is football. It is difficult for me to analyze the game right now, we will review it later. We scored and we try to score another goal. I don't want to blame the defenders."

He added,

"I don't know the result of the other game but we can qualify as one of the second best losers. "

The World Cup qualifying series has been disappointing for Nigeria having secured just one win and four draws in their opening six games.
