Enzo Maresca reveals why he dropped Noni Madueke against Aston Villa
The head coach of Chelsea, Enzo Maresca has revealed the reason for his selection against Aston Villa with the major omission being Noni Madueke.
Noni Madueke has received sticks from most of Chelsea's supporters for his inconsistency in most part of this season especially in the Premier League. Enzo Maresca was speaking ahead of the game against Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge which was played on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
He said,
"There could be [a change in shape], let’s see. The idea is to always form a different game plan which depends on our team and the other team. We decided to go with Romeo, Moi and Enzo, and hopefully, it will work. It’s a big game and a tough game, in the same way the rest of the games have been. In this moment, we aren’t focused on the top four, we are focused on the game."
Chelsea have been in fantastic form since Enzo Maresca took charge of the club from the beginning of this season (2024/25) as he took over from Mauricio Pochettino who was sacked at the end of last season.
