Chelsea Football Club could be without Cole Palmer when they host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge in their next Premier League game.

The Blues manager, Enzo Maresca while speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of the London derby against Arsenal confirmed that Cole Palmer is being monitored before he can take a final decision.

What did Enzo Maresca say about Palmer's injury?

The Italian said that two more training sessions will determine if Cole Palmer will be fit to face the Gunners.

He said,

He's getting better, if he can complete his dinner it means he's fit. Hopefully we have him for the next two sessions and also on Saturday. Then we will make a decision."

What happened to Cole Palmer?

Palmer took a knock from a challenge by Lisandro Martinez in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday, November 3, 2024.

Recall that Maresca had initially given an update on Jadon Sancho's fitness who has been out of action since the defeat against Liverpool at Anfield.

"Jadon is the only one out tomorrow, with illness. He is recovering from that, but he also had a knock in a session. Tomorrow he is out but we will see if he can be available for Sunday’s game, otherwise, it will be after the international break for him."

He also spoke about his team preparation ahead of the game against Arsenal following Chelsea's 8-0 demolition of FC Noah in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Maresca also mentioned the 5-0 defeat against the Gunnwrs last season

For sure, that game was a big, huge defeat for us [losing 5-0 to Arsenal last season], for the club. Hopefully, we can do something different on Sunday. We have the right feeling that we are going in the right direction. Hopefully on Sunday, we can give our fans a good day."

Chelsea supporters will hope Palmer and Sancho are both fit for the gand against Arsenal and for a victory against their London neighbours.
