Enzo Fernandez Reveals Why He Decided to Join Chelsea
FIFA World Cup winner, Enzo Fernandez has explained his reason for joining Chelsea Football Club despite offers from other clubs.
The Argentine was speaking in an interview that was published on the official website of UEFA on Monday, April 10th, 2023. He said, one of the reasons he decided to join the Blues was because of the club's long-term project which was presented to him.
One of the factors was that I liked the long-term project the club is creating. I also always dreamed about playing in the Premier League, and Chelsea had shown their interest in me even before the World Cup.
He also said that the winning mentality at Chelsea was another factor that inspired him.
I came to a big club, one that has always fought for trophies and that has won two Champions Leagues in a very short period. Now that I'm here, I've realized how big this club really is. And that's what we wanted, what the club aimed for as a whole. This was an important factor when making this decision, apart from the fact that it's in such a beautiful city like London. I thought it all through with my family. If it's God's will, everything will turn out fine, and I'll strive to win anything and everything.
Fernandez joined Chelsea from Benfica during the January transfer window as a direct replacement for Jorginho who moved to Arsenal. However, he has melted his way into the heart of Chelsea fans and they will hope that he brings out his best form in seasons to come.
