The news was confirmed by the spokesperson of the organisation on its official Twitter account on Friday, September 23rd, 2022. According to reports, the decision was taken because of Ronaldo's violent conduct after the match against Everton on Saturday, April 9th, 2022.

The footage which was taken by @EvertonHub, showed Ronaldo lowering his right hand towards the ground before what appears to be a phone colliding with and bouncing up off the surface, as he exited the pitch following the 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park. It has been alleged that Ronaldo's conduct after the final whistle was improper and/or violent.

The fan's mother has claimed he was left bruised by the incident, which left the youngster in complete shock. Ronaldo has since apologised for the outburst.
