D'Tigress Set to Receive 25 Million Naira from Nigeria's Presidency

The D'Tigress team that won the Women's Afrobasket will be rewarded 25 million naira from the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The Nigeria Women's basketball team were victorious at the Afrobasket competition by beating Maki in the final, the competition was hosted in Cameroon last year.

The Minister for Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare recommended to the Presidency after the competition that the ladies be appreciated with a token following their impressive run in Cameroon. President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the release of the funds, according to reports from the website of the Nation Newspaper.

D'Tigress will hope they can repeat such a feat at the FIBA World Cup which will be hosted in Sydney, Australia from September 22nd to October 1st, 2022. The Nigerian team sealed qualification with a win over Mali in their final group game.
