Didier Drogba sends a message to Chelsea supporters

Chelsea Football Club has been a shadow of itself since Todd Boehly bought the club in June 2022 from Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich.

The Blues as they are popularly called have spent over a billion pounds in gross in three transfer windows but the performance on the field has been a direct opposite of the money spent. Chelsea supporters who are used to winning games and competing for trophies amongst the top clubs in Europe have been calling for the sack of Mauricio Pochettino after the team suffered back-to-back defeats in the league against Liverpool and Wolves having conceded eight goals in both games.

One of Chelsea's legends, Didier Drogba has called on the supporters of the club to exercise patience with the current set of players. According to him, these players need time to get their rhythm even though he understands that there is no time in football.

"It is not an easy moment for the club, those kids, I mean those young players, they came to Chelsea because we created a legacy and they want to be part of this legacy, they want to leave this legacy, unfortunately, there's no time in football but they will need time to adjust.
You have to remember that when I joined Chelsea, the group of players were 24, 25, 26 some of them 27. So we were already ready for the game and they're still learning. They're still young.
So, give them time and when they reach their peak, everybody will be like, Wow, this is the new generation. You know, the best team is just here. It's just a matter of time."

Chelsea currently occupy the 11th position on the Premier League table having played 23 games. The supporters of the club will hope their season gets a positive turnaround before it gets too late.
