David Raya rewrites a 30-year-old history at Arsenal

Arsenal goalkeeper, David Raya, has rewritten a 30-year-old history in the Premier League at the Emirates Stadium.

David Raya, who is currently on loan from Brentford, achieved a feat that no Arsenal goalkeeper has managed to do in 30 years. He's the first Arsenal goalkeeper rewrite this history since David Seaman to keep a clean sheet away from home against Manchester City and Manchester United in a single season during the 1992/93 season.

David Raya accomplished this feat in the game against Manchester United on Sunday, May 12, 2024. Leandro Trossard scored the only goal of the game in the first half, giving the Gunners a good hold of the second half.

The victory over Manchester United now puts pressure on Manchester City as they travel to London to face Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

The number-one shot-stopper for the Gunners was named the winner of the 2023/24 Golden Glove award in the league. Raya won the award, having kept 16 clean sheets in 31 league matches with one more match left this season.He is also the first Arsenal player to win the award since Petr Cech during the 2014/15 season.
