David De Gea teases fans as he edges closer to joining Newcastle United

Manchester United supporters could see their former number-one shot-stopper, David De Gea between the goalpost for Newcastle United sooner than they expected.

The Spaniard international who has been a free agent since the end of the 2022/23 football season teased supporters by posting a picture of his gloves and feet on his official Instagram with the caption, Work, work, work. The Magpies are one of the top clubs that are linked to signing De Gea as they look to compete across all competitions.

Newcastle United's goalkeeper, Nick Pope suffered an injury during the 1-0 victory over Manchester United which has ruled him out for at least four months. He suffered a repeat of the dislocated shoulder problem he had while was at Burnley which kept him on the sidelines for just over five months.

De Gea is going to be a good addition to the Tyneside club even though he is expected to take a pay reduction from what he is used to earning at Manchester United.
