Copa America 2024 : USA vs Panama: Match Highlights

The United States of America's ( USA ) quest to reach the Quarter-finals of the Copa suffered a big blow following their defeat against Panama at the 2024 Copa America.

The game started on a sour note for the USA when Tim Weah was shown a straight red card for striking Panama defender Roderick Miller. He will now miss the USMNT’s crucial match against Uruguay plus their quarter-final tie should they qualify.

Despite this, the US took the lead when Folarin Balogun scored his second goal in as many games when he curled home a fantastic strike from distance.

But Panama levelled the score through Cesar Blackman some minutes later and, after the half-time break. They finally made their one-man advantage count when Jose Fajardo smashed home a close-range half-volley to give them the lead.

The loss leaves the USA on the brink of an early Copa America exit, as they must beat Uruguay in their final group-stage match. In the other game, Uruguay beat Bolivia 5-0 to book qualification to the quarter-final of the competition.
