Conor Gallagher takes a decision on his future at Chelsea

Conor Gallagher's days at Chelsea Football Club have been numbered after he agreed on personal terms to join La Liga side, Atletico Madrid, on a long-term deal ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the news on his official X account on Monday, August 5, 2024. According to him, the English International decided to join Atlético Madrid after he failed to reach an agreement deal with Chelsea.

The Blues already told Conor Gallagher that he was going to be a squad player because of the style of player under Chelsea's new manager, Enzo Maresca. However, he could have left Stamford Bridge as a free agent as he is into the final few months of his current contract.

Chelsea had initially accepted a deal in the region of £34 million from Atletico Madrid last week after failing to reach an agreement with the player over new contract terms to keep him at Stamford Bridge
