Concerns loom as Raphael Varane's Man United contract enters its final months

Concerns from fans have surfaced on social media as Raphael Varane's contract at Manchester United enters its final months with no word of a possible extension.

Reports now indicate that Raphael Varane might not be part of the new era of Manchester United, as there are currently no talks on the table about a possible contract extension as the French and former Real Madrid defender's contract enters the final months at Old Trafford.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Varane is poised for a possible departure from Old Trafford, with interest from clubs in Europe and Saudi Arabia becoming more pronounced.

In a podcast session with Caught Offside, Fabrizio stated, “I’ve also had many questions about Raphael Varane. We’ve had many rumours about him receiving a new contract proposal, but this is not my understanding. From what I’m told, Varane has not received a single contract proposal and there is no negotiation with Man United. Let’s see what will happen in the next months, but if there is no change he will leave as a free agent because his contract is expiring. I expect Varane to have many options in Europe and in Saudi, for sure. He will take his time over his future, but at current stages it looks unlikely for Varane to stay at Man United.”

This could be a huge blow for Manchester United, as Varane is arguably one of the most experienced defenders at the club. The times are, however, still early, and many still have high hopes that a contract extension is still in sight.
