Man United legend, Roy Keane has shared his thoughts on if Chelsea's Cole Palmer should start for England at the Euros 2024.

Former Manchester United player and legend Toy Keane has shared his thoughts as to if Cole Palmer is suitable enough to start for England in the Euros 2024 round of 16.

Roy Keane praised Chelsea star Cole Palmer after a strong performance against Slovenia in a goalless draw that saw England and Denmark qualify for the Euro 2024 knockout stage.

Keane emphasized that Palmer should be starting regularly for England as they advance in the tournament. The Chelsea talent was said to have injected the much-needed energy into England's otherwise lacklustre display against Slovenia in their final group-stage match on Tuesday.

Gareth Southgate introduced Cole Palmer in the 71st minute, marking his first appearance for the Three Lions in a major tournament. Palmer's passing accuracy was arguably one of the most talked about actions of the English side, and he created England's best chance of the game, forcing Jan Oblak to make a low save in stoppage time.

Speaking on ITV after the match, Keane said, “Would you want to mark Palmer? You wouldn’t want to play against him. He’s so unpredictable, he can beat a man, go left or right. A lot of brilliant players affect the game, and when he came on, you knew he was going to make an impact. Every time he got the ball, we were watching him. I’m hard to impress, but I kept thinking, ‘something is going to happen.’ He will believe he should be in that starting XI. He won’t be content just to be here; he’ll be looking at Gareth [Southgate], like the big personalities do, thinking ‘Get me out there.’"
