Four clubs in Europe have announced their rejection of the proposed European Super League following the recent decision by the European Court of Justice.

The European Court of Justice today, Thursday, December 21, 2023, made its final judgement on the formation of the Super League and the decision stated that FIFA and UEFA had misused their power as the football governing bodies.

The final judgement has been met with mixed reactions, and five clubs in Europe have now announced their rejection of the league.

Manchester United has officially announced their rejection of the proposed European Super League. The club reiterated their commitment to all UEFA competitions and confirmed that their stance remains unchanged.

The statement read, “Our position has NOT changed. We remain fully committed to participation in UEFA competitions, and to positive cooperation with UEFA, the Premier League, and fellow clubs through the ECA on the continued development of the European game”.

Bayern Munich confirm their stance on the Super League

Bayern Munich has released an official statement regarding their position in the Super League and its impact on football. The statement confirms that the German Bundesliga champions do not support the idea of the Super League and have no intention of participating in it.

Bayern's official statement read, “It’s very clear: the door for the Super League at FC Bayern remains closed. Such a competition would represent an attack on the importance of domestic leagues and the statics of European football”

Atletico Madrid denounce the European Super League

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have announced that they will not be part of the Super League following the recent decision of the European Court of Justice.

The official statement read, “The European football family does not want the European Super League. Germany, France, England, Italy, Spain (except for Real Madrid and Barcelona), etc. do not want the Super League. We are in favour of protecting the European football family, safeguarding domestic leagues, and ensuring that qualification for European competitions is achieved through on-field performance every season”.

Sevilla rejects the European Super League

Sevilla, in an official statement on their website today, Thursday, December 21, 2023, confirmed their rejection of the European Super League. The official statement from the club was shared in the form of graphics that read, "Earn it on the pitch."
