Chelsea takes final decision on Jadon Sancho's future

Jadon Sancho will return to Manchester United ahead of the 2025/26 football season after Chelsea opted not to trigger the obligation to buy a deal for the player.

Jadon Sancho joined Chelsea on loan from United during the 2024 summer transfer window after he fell down the pecking order under Erik Ten Hag. The Blues were expected to pay a fee between £20 and 25 million pounds for the midfielder if they finished in the top 14 at the end of the 2024/25 Premier League season.

However, Sancho failed to leave a mark in the heart of the top hierarchy at Chelsea hence the decision to allow him to return to Manchester United. The Blues will pay 5 million pounds to the Red Devils as a penalty for failing to keep to their agreement.
