Chelsea have reportedly completed their 7th signing of the June 2024 transfer window ahead of the 2024/2025 club football season.

Chelsea according to recent reports have recently completed the signing of 19-year-old Argentine defender, Aaron Anselmino from Boca Juniors in the June 2024 transfer window. The rumoured transfer move was confirmed in a report shared by the popular sports reporter, Fabrizio Romano in a post on his social media platform.

He revealed that after very long negotiations between both teams, the Argentine centre-back was finally signed for a package exceeding $20m but still under the clause.

Anselmino according to reports will travel to the UK to complete his medical tests and sign a long-term contract with Chelsea and then travel back, as he would be staying at Boca Juniors on loan as part of the plan till January, where he would be ready for Europe in 2025.

The loan arrangement is said to have been a crucial factor in the negotiations, as it gave Chelsea the upper hand over Manchester United, who also expressed interest in the young defender.

Who is Aaron Anselmino Chelsea's transfer target?

The 19-year-old Argentine centre-back Aaron Anselmino has gained recognition since joining Chelsea from Boca Juniors. Aaron joined Boca Juniors at a very young age, and he showed promise as a major central defender as he moved up through the development ranks.

Even with his restricted playing time at Boca Juniors, the young player was able to make an impression with his strong defensive ability in the few minutes he was given. It was his performances during these minutes that drew the attention of elite European teams.

Anselmino is known for his formidable defensive skills, which include positional awareness, aerial duels, and tackles. Scouts have noticed that despite his lack of first-team experience, he has the ability to grow into a top-notch defence with the correct coaching and increased playing time.
