Chelsea set to complete its first signing of the 2024/25 season

Chelsea Football Club are reportedly set to complete the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo as a free agent ahead of the 2024/25 football season.
The defender confirmed that he will not sign a new deal with Fulham after his current contract expired at the end of last season (2023/24). Transfer news expert, Fabrizio Romano confirmed exclusively on his official X account that Tosin Adarabioyo could be the first signing of Enzo Maresca.
Newcastle were in the running to sign the former Manchester City defender and have been working on a deal for several weeks. But they have not been able to see off a late move from Chelsea.
Chelsea have been on the lookout for a new center-back back the departure of Thiago Silva and they also have an edge over Newcastle because they will play in the Europa Conference League. If Chelsea pulls the deal through, it means the Blues will have Benoît Badiashile, Levi Colwill Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah and Adarabioyo.
