Chelsea make strategic move on Moises Caicedo's future

Chelsea have reportedly made a strategic transfer move amidst speculations surrounding Moises Caicedo's future at the club.
According to fresh reports, Chelsea are planning to open talks with Moisés Caicedo’s camp over a new contract following an impressive season at the club amidst ongoing transfer rumours as well as speculations surrounding his future at the club.
According to Fabrizio Romano the club is said to be very happy with Caicedo’s impact, both in terms of performance and consistency, and want to ensure he remains a key part of their long-term project.
Although formal negotiations have not yet begun, the intention is clear: Chelsea want to reward Caicedo and secure his future at Stamford Bridge. It’s not an urgent matter, and discussions are expected to take some time, especially as he still has several years left on his current deal.
However, the club’s desire to open talks is a strong show of faith in the Ecuadorian, who joined from Brighton last summer for a British record fee.
After a difficult start, Caicedo under the management of Enzo Maresca has grown into his role, becoming a reliable presence in Chelsea’s midfield, this also earned his the recognition of the Chelsea's Player of the Year for the 2024/2025 season as well as the club's Players Player of the Year award in the same season as well.
Chelsea may not be in a rush, but their message is clear and it is that Moisés Caicedo is part of the future plans in the coming years at the club and they’re ready to keep it that way.
