Chelsea gives update on Carney Chukwuemeka's injury

Chelsea Football Club have given an update on the injury on the injury suffered by Carney Chukwuemeka.

The Blues confirmed on its official website on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, that the player underwent his surgery and has begun his recovery process. The 19-year-old is immediately expected to begin his rehabilitation program at the club's medical centre in Cobham.

Carney Chukwuemeka suffered the injury in the first half of the game between West Ham United and Chelsea at the London Stadium on Sunday, August 20, 2023. He scored the only goal for the Blues after cutting into the Hammers defence in fine fashion.

The injury is a big blow to Chelsea following the injury that was suffered by the club's captain in training ahead of the game against West Ham. Both players are expected to be out for at least six weeks.
