Chelsea FC Confirm the Signing of Another Player

Chelsea Football Club have confirmed its third signing of this summer transfer window ahead of the new football season( 2022/23).

The Blues confirmed the signing of goalkeeper, Gabriel Slonina on a permanent deal from the MLS club, Chicago Fire. According to reports, the 18-year-old will return to the US-based club until the start of 2023. Chelsea reportedly paid $15 million plus add-ons and a 6-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2028.

The American broke into the first team of the Chicago Fire and has been in fantastic form for the club. He played every minute of the 2022 season, having 34 appearances for the club.

He is also the youngest goalkeeper ever to start an MLS match, having made his debut for the Fire at the age of 17 years and 81 days in August 2021. Slonina Is expected to be a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga who is reportedly set to join Serie A side, Napoli.
