Chelsea Football Club have confirmed the exit of its winger, Diego Moriera, to RB Strasbourg on a permanent deal just a few months after he joined the London club.

The news of his departure was confirmed on the official website of Chelsea on Friday, August 16, 2024. According to reports from Stamford Bridge, Diego Moriera has been sold permanently with no option of returning.

Moriera joined Chelsea during the 2023 summer transfer window, but he failed to break into the club's first team under Mauricio Pochettino. However, he had the privilege of playing one game for Chelsea, which was the Carabao Cup against AFC Wimbledon.

Diego Moriera later completed a loan move to the Ligue 1 side Lyon, so he could gain more experience, which would allow him to break into Chelsea's first team. He went on to play just nine games across all competitions before returning to Stamford Bridge in January 2024.

The 21-year-old was drafted into Chelsea's U-21 team upon his return, where he helped them qualify for the Premier League 2 play-off semi-finals, where he scored a hat-trick against Arsenal.
