Chelsea confirm the exit of David Datro Fofana after six months

The next player to leave Chelsea Football Club is Ivory Coast's forward player, David Datro Fofana who joined the Stamford Bridge club in January 2023.

The Blues confirmed the exit of the Ivorian on its official website on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. According to reports from the club, Fofana will join the Bundesliga club, Union Berlin on a season loan deal, this move will give him the UEFA Champions League experience when they compete.

This also offers him a higher level of football than he was playing before joining Chelsea. David Fofana made his debut for the Blues in the FA Cup game against Manchester City.

Some Chelsea fans have frowned at the decision of the club to allow the youngster to leave on loan despite finding it hard to find a striker who will lead the forward line next season.

However, the Blues still have Romelu Lukaku, Armando Broja and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang in the club but there is a possibility that at least one of the trio will leave before the start of the new season.
