Chelsea midfielder leaves for another Premier League club

Chelsea's quest to trim down their squad has continued as they look to have a sizeable number of players before the 2023 transfer window closes.

The Blues confirmed the exit of Andrey Santos on their official website on Friday, August 25, 2023, on a season-loan deal to Premier League side, Nottingham Forest. He joined Chelsea last winter from Vasco da Gama before returning to the Brazilian side on loan and impressed for the Blues in pre-season this summer.

The 19-year-old midfielder has been capped at senior international level by Brazil and shone for the U20 side at the South American Championship earlier this year. He is expected to make his debut against Manchester United this weekend.

Cesare Casadei has also left Chelsea on a season-long loan deal to Championship side, Leicester City. The 20-year-old joined Chelsea in the 2022 summer transfer window from Inter Milan. He was a regular for the Blues Under-21 side before leaving on loan for Reading in January 2023.
