Chelsea drop 3 key players from 2024 Conference League official squad
Chelsea have dropped three key players from their 2024 UEFA Conference League official 25-man squad list to represent the Blues.
Chelsea have made surprising decisions regarding their UEFA Conference League squad, omitting Cole Palmer from the 25-man list selected to compete in the league phase.
The team will face Gent at home, Heidenheim away, Astana away, Shamrock Rovers at home, Panathinaikos away, and Noah at home.
However, Palmer, along with Wesley Fofana and Romeo Lavia, has been excluded for "load management" reasons, with the club aiming to balance their workload for what could be a demanding season.
Wesley Fofana, who had been sidelined due to a serious knee injury for most of the 2023/2024 season made his return to the club in the 2024/2025 season meaning Chelsea is being cautious with his fitness.

Meanwhile, Romeo Lavia, who joined from Southampton, also dealt with fitness concerns after suffering an ankle injury early in the 2023/2024 season. Both players are likely being managed to ensure they can contribute later in the season without risking further injury.
