Chelsea receives a huge boost as 2 injured players resume training

Chelsea fans can now heave a sigh of relief as two players who have been out for a while due to injury have made their return back to training.

With the Blues looking to pick up form and continue their runs of wins both home and away, the return of two key players who had been out for a few months now will serve as a huge boost for the squad ahead of the second half of the season.

Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka have both returned to first-team training for Chelsea and this is a huge boost for the team ahead of their FA Cup knockout stage fixture against Preston North End.

Chilwell hasn't played since he got a hamstring injury in Chelsea's Carabao Cup victory over Brighton. On the other hand, Chukwuemeka, a former Aston Villa player, hasn't played since he got injured in a match against West Ham, even though he had scored to equalize the scores.

It was expected that the latter would return earlier this season and even appeared on the bench against Burnley. Unfortunately, in October 2023, they experienced a setback due to a complicated issue with their knee. As a result, Chukwuemeka needed additional rehabilitation to reach full fitness levels.

It is however uncertain if the two England internationals will be available for selection ahead of the all-important FA Cup fixture.
