Celta Vigo terminates Rafa Benitez's contract

The contract of former Liverpool manager, Rafa Benitez has been terminated by La Liga side, Celta Vigo after a series of bad results at the club.

The 63-year old won just one of his last five matches in charge of the LaLiga side. Benitez took charge of 33 games during his time at Celta Vigo, they lost 14 of those games to saw them drop to 17th in the Spanish League, two points off the relegation zone.

The club statement read as follow,

"Rafa Benítez and his staff leave RC Celta after eight months of absolute dedication and total commitment, but in which the team has not obtained the results expected by the club. The club would like to express to Rafa Benítez and his assistants its most sincere gratitude for the honesty and professionalism they have shown since their arrival and the tireless work they have done. RC Celta would also like to wish them the best of luck and success in the future."

This is the second job that Benitez will get terminated from in less than a year, he was previously sacked from his coaching role at Everton.
