#WorldCup2022: Cameroon Rewrites Africa's Football History With Win Over Brazil
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have rewritten Africa's football history with the victory over Brazil in the World Cup 2022.
Even though Cameroon missed the opportunity of qualifying for the round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon left the competition with a bang as the side became the first and the only African country to beat Brazil at the world cup.
Cameroon defeated Cameroon by 1 goal to nil; the goal, which was scored by the captain, Vincent Aboubakar, in the final minutes of the game, saw Cameroon defy all odds and go home with all three points. A draw in Switzerland vs Serbia game would have secured a slot for them in the round of 16, but Switzerland had picked up all three points and, in turn, secured a spot in the round of 16 of the world cup from goals scored by Embolo, Shaqiri and Frueler.
Aboubakar also became the third African player in history to score against Brazil in a competitive tournament.
