Bukayo Saka reacts to Cole Palmer’s best player of the year award

Arsenal's assistant captain, Bukayo Saka has reacted to Cole Palmer's 2023/24 best player of the year award in England following his impressive performance for both Chelsea and the Three Lions.

Cole Palmer won the award ahead of Bukayo Saka and Jude Bellingham despite the performance of both players for Arsenal and Real Madrid respectively.

What did Bukayo Saka say about Palmer's best player of the year award?

He hailed Palmer for his impressive work and also believed that he was deserving of the award because of his form last season. Saka praised his teammate's achievement, saying it was a well-deserved award for the Chelsea player.

"Credit to Cole (Palmer) for winning Player of the Year. It's a big achievement and he deserves it. I was next to him at the time; his mouth was just open; he couldn't believe it."

The 22-year-old has only made two starts for the Three Lions, with seven more substitute appearances, but he has made a huge impression across those nine games, scoring his first England goal in a friendly against Bosnia-Herzegovina and his second in the final of Euro 2024 against Spain.

Cole Palmer's performances have seen him named England Men’s Player of the Year in a remarkable 2024 which also saw him win Premier League Young Player of the Season, PFA Young Player of the Year, Chelsea Player and Player’s Player of the Season.
