Brazilian FA confirms the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti
The Brazilian Football Confederation have confirmed the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as its new manager.
The body made the announcement in the late hours of Tuesday, July 5, 2023. It is confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti will see out his contract with Real Madrid which runs out at the end of the 2023/24 season before he takes charge of the Samba boys.
This is the first time the 64-year-old will take charge of the national team for the first time in his coaching career. He replaces Tite who left the position after a quarter-finals defeat to Croatia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The head coach of Fluminense, Diniz will be in charge for now taking over from Brazil's U-20 manager Ramon Menezes, who lost two out of three friendly matches earlier this year as interim coach. Diniz will keep his job at Fluminense and join Brazil only for the World Cup qualifiers. Ancelotti will then take over for the 2024 Copa America and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
