Manchester City would be without one of its first key players, Bernardo Silva as the games begin to come in thick and fast for the Cityzens.

The injury list of the treble winners increased after their maestro midfielder suffered an injury in the opening UEFA Champions League game for this season ( 2023/24) against Red Star Belgrade. The Portuguese International is expected to be out for the next few games

Jeremy Doku was introduced in the first half in place of Bernardo Silva in Tuesday's Champions League group stage game which was played on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Manchester City's manager, Pep Guardiola admitted that his team was in trouble as the list of injury players continues to increase.

"He (Silva) didn't say anything at the end," Guardiola said. "I didn't speak with the doctors, but apparently, for the next games, he won't be able to play. We are in trouble but I am not going to say, 'Oh, we have a lot of injuries. When we have five important players, really, really important players injured, to sustain that for a long time will be difficult. But it is what it is."

The 28-year-old is set to miss this weekend's Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest but Guardiola will hope Silva is fit before they face Arsenal on October 8, 2023. He joins Kevin De Bruyne, John Stones, Jack Grealish and Matteo Kovacic on the sidelines.
