The 2022 Ballon d'Or winner Karim Benzema opened up on what Cristiano Ronaldo had done when he won the award.

In an interview, France and Real Madrid forward Karim Benzema revealed what former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo did after winning the Ballon d'Or 2022. The French international, who is focused on the FIFA World Cup 2022, revealed that Cristiano had not congratulated him on his Ballon d'Or win yet.

He said:

"No, not yet."

Benzema also opened up on his focus on the World Cup, revealing to Telefoot that he had no plans to quit the beautiful football game until he won the prestigious award.

He revealed:

"I didn't want to stop playing until I won the Ballon d'Or, I always believed in myself, I knew that at some point, with my qualities and my ambitions, I could win it.

That's why, for the last four years, I've been pushing and pushing to get this trophy."
