Former Manchester City player, Benjamin Mendy will get to show his class to the world again when the 2023/24 season kicks off.

The French defender recently signed a deal with Ligue 1 side, Lorient as a free agent. This will see him stay at the club for at least until 2025, the announcement was made on its official website on Wednesday, July 19, 2023.

Benjamin Mendy's contract recently expired with Manchester City in June 2023 where he made a total of 75 appearances for the club, winning four Premier League titles during his time with the Cityzens. He was also a member of the France squad that won the 2018 World Cup.

The 29-year-old was cleared of one count of rape and one count of attempted rape after a retrial earlier this month. He was previously cleared of six counts of rape at his initial trial in January.

Mendy will not find it difficult to adapt to the football in France, having played for Marseille, Le Havre, and Monaco before moving to the Etihad Stadium.
