The 2022/2023 club football transfer window has been one filled with twists and turns as the German giants, Bayern Munich are set to hijack Chelsea’s bid for Juventus defender Matthijs de Ligt.

Chelsea had reportedly offered Juventus 70 million euros for the defender plus 10 million euros in add-ons, a bid that was rejected and deemed small by the Serie A side.

Bayern Munich is reportedly looking to swoop in on the deal by offering a lesser amount but higher add-ons.

According to reports Bayern is not looking to engage Chelsea in a bidding war but looking to get De Ligt to choose them instead.

This is the third defender Chelsea is showing interest in as they would be looking to fill in the vacant space left by Toni Rudiger who had left the club on a free transfer.
