Bayern Munich confirms Vincent Kompany as its manager

Bayern Munich have confirmed the appointment of Vincent Kompany as its manager on a three-year deal after the Bavarians sealed a compensation deal with Burnley Football Club.

The news was confirmed on Bayern Munich's official website on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, according to reports from the club, Vincent Kompany will join the Bundesliga club ahead of the 2024/25 football season.

Bayern brought in Kompany as a perfect choice to led to club to glory next season as a replacent for Tuchel's successor, with Xabi Alonso, Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann and Austria coach Ralf Rangnick all turning down the job to manage the job at the Allianz Arena.

What did Vincent Kompany say?

" I am looking forward to the challenge of FC Bayern. It's a great honour to be able to work for this club - FC Bayern is an institution in international football. As a coach, you have to stand for who you are as a person: I love having the ball, being creative and we also have to be aggressive on the pitch and courageous. I am now looking forward to the most basic things: working with the players, building a team. When the foundation is in place, success will follow."

Bayern Munich's decision to hire Kompany has come as a shock to a lot of football lovers around the world but the supporters of the club will hope this turns out to be a good decision at the end of this current season.
