Bartholomew Ogbeche Sets Record in Indian Super League

Former Super Eagles striker, Bartholomew Ogbeche wrote his name in the record books of the Indian Super League.

The 37-year-old who plays for Hyderabad Football club scored a brace against NorthEast United to take his goal tally to 49 in the league. He achieved this feat on Monday, January 31st, 2022.

Ogbeche scored his goals in the 3rd and 60th minute of the game which took him past Sunil Chhetri and Ferran Corominas who are both tied on 48 goals.

Ogbeche represented Nigeria at the 2002 Korea Japan World Cup where he played just the opening two group games of the competition. The Super Eagles failed to get past the first round of the World Cup.

He created a partnership with former Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins when they were both in the Nigeria national team averaging at least two goals in a game. The partnership broke when Yakubu Aiyegbeni and Julius Aghahowa broke into the national team
