Barcelona and Xavi resolve head coach situation ahead of next season

According to recent reports, Barcelona and Xavi have finalized who will take charge of the club as the head coach next season.

It has been revealed by EPSN that the current head coach of Barcelona Xavi who initially announced that he would be leaving the club at the end of the 2023/2024 season has decided to retain his position till 2025.

Xavi Hernández has made a U-turn on his decision to step down as Barcelona coach at the end of the season, and is set to remain at the club according to the media outlet ESPN.

The 44-year-old, who initially announced his departure in January due to a series of poor results and the mental toll of the job, has agreed to honour his contract until 2025 following discussions with President Joan Laporta. Xavi, who took over as coach in 2021 and secured Barcelona's first league title in four years last season, had signed a contract extension until 2025 with the possibility of an additional year in September.
