Barcelona set a new UEFA Champions League record

Barcelona wrote their name into the history book of the UEFA Champions League en route their road to the quarter-final of the competition.

The Bavarians became the first team in the history of the tournament to field two teenagers aged 16 and 17. Pau Cubarsi and Lamine Yamal both played their part in ensuring that Barcelona were part of the last eight teams at this season's ( 2023/24) tournament.

The future is bright for Barcelona as both players were graduates of the Barcelona junior team ( La Masia) which is the same footsteps that Messi followed.

This is the first time Barcelona will reach the quarter-finals since Messi left the Catalonia giants. Xavi Hernandes also became the first manager of the club to reach this stage of the competition without Messi for the first time in 21 years.
