Barcelona Football Club have been hit with injury worries ahead of the crucial second-leg UEFA Champions League clash against Napoli at Camp Nou.

The La Liga club confirmed in an official statement released on its website on Monday, March 4, 2024, that Pedri and Frenkie de Jong have been ruled out for at least a month. According to the club, both players suffered an injury in the game against Atletic Bilbao.

De Jong has a lateral ligament sprain in his right ankle and will not be available against Napoli. Pedri is also ruled out of the game against the Serie A Champions after he suffered an injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh.

Statement on De Jong;

"Frenkie de Jong twisted his ankle after 26 minutes of the game against Athletic Club on Sunday in San Mamés, his 26th appearance of the season. De Jong has been a starter in all of his games this season for Barça, scoring twice."

Statement on Pedri;

"Pedri left the field against Athletic Club right at the end of the first half to be replaced by Lamine Yamal. The game in San Mamés was the 24th appearance of the season for the midfielder, 16 of which have come as a starter and in which he has also scored two goals."

The supporters of Barcelona hope that both players get back to full fitness before the end of the season as they look to fight for the League title.
