Barcelona first-team player reportedly ruled out for weeks

Barcelona Football Club have confirmed an injury to one of its first-team players, Inigo Martinez ahead of the first international window of the year.
The Catalonia club posted the injury news of Inigo Matinez on its official website on Monday, March 17, 2025. According to reports from Barcelona, Inigo Martinez suffered an injury in Sunday's 4-2 win over Atletico Madrid and will remain sidelined throughout the international break.
The defender played the entirety of Sunday's match against Atletico Madrid but left the Stadium with discomfort. Following tests carried out on the player, the Catalans have now confirmed the extent of the injury.
The club's statement read as follows;
"Tests this morning confirmed that first-team player Inigo Martínez has lateral meniscus inflammation in his right knee. He will be treated in Barcelona under the supervision of the Club’s medical staff."
There are reports from other news outlets in Spain that Inigo Martinez will be ruled out for three weeks. However, Martinez has been ruled out from the Spain national team squad for the Nations League quarter-final against the Netherlands, with Bournemouth's Dejan Hujsen receiving a call-up to replace him.
